Produced by Ellis Rugby, Australia Rugby League Shirt Vintage Kangaroos is the finest shirt. The Australia Rugby League team, the Kangaroos, were first formed to tour Great Britain in 1908. Besides, Australia’s early international competition came from alternating tours. The tours to Great Britain and New Zealand and hosting these teams in non-tour years. The tests mainly dominated by Great Britain in the early years.

The tourists arrived in the United Kingdom on the 27th September 1908. And played their first ever test match against the Great Britain national team. Moreover, the match called the “Northern Union” in London in December. A crowd of over 2,000 watched an entertaining 22-22 draw. Over 22,000 spectators were in attendance at the second test staged in Newcastle in January 1909. A game that the Northern Union won 15–5. Villa Park, Birmingham was the venue for the third test. And the Northern Union secured the series winning again 6–5 before a crowd of 9,000. The tourists suggested that the series should be named ‘The Ashes’ after the cricket series of the same name.

Australia did not win a Test against the Great Britain Rugby League Lions for three years. It was on the 1911–12 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain led by Chris McKivat.  Australia won the Test series against Great Britain with two wins and one draw. An achievement that wouldn’t be equalled for more than 50 years.

The first Great Britain Rugby League Lions return tour ‘down under’ began on 4 June 1910. It began when the team played New South Wales in Sydney in front of 33,000 spectators. The tourists won the first test in Sydney against Australia 27–20 in front of 42,000. They then won the second test in Brisbane 22–17.

In 1911–12 the Kangaroo tourists included four New Zealanders. They won the Ashes for the first time. And for the next half a century no other touring team did do so on British soil.
On the second Great Britain Rugby League Lions tour to Australia in 1914 the second time the British toured down under. Sid Deane captained the Kangaroos and managed one victory, but lost the series in the famous decider, the “Rorke’s Drift Test”.

The 1920 Great Britain Lions tour saw Australia win the Ashes for the first time on home soil. Then in January 1922, Great Britain won back the Ashes by defeating Australia 6–0 at The Willows, Salford. Great Britain then dominated the contests and they did not lose again until 1950.

Having failed to reach the final of the inaugural 1954 Rugby League World Cup, Australia hosted and won the 1957 Rugby League World Cup.
For the 1960 World Cup no final held, but the last game, which was between the previously undefeated Great Britain and Australia sides, made it the tournament decider. Great Britain won 10–3.

The 1963–64 Kangaroo tour saw Australia’s first ever Ashes victory on British soil.
