The Vintage Ireland Rugby Shirt is the finest shirt produced by Ellis Rugby. The national Ireland Rugby Union team had played its first international match against England in 1875 at The Oval in London. Besides, the teams were twenty a side and the Irish team included 8 players from Ulster and 12 players from Leinster.

The first rugby club in Ireland was Dublin University that established in 1854. The students who had learned rugby ran the university team. They received education at public schools in England. By 1868, rugby began to spread quickly throughout the country. Moreover, Several other clubs formed, including NIFC (1868); Wanderers (1869); Queen’s University (1869); Lansdowne (1873); Dungannon (1873); Co. Carlow (1873); UCC (1874); and Ballinasloe (1875) which amalgamated with Athlone to form Buccaneers.

In 1874, the Irish Football Union was formed by eight clubs, including Dublin University. Ireland played with England again in their first home match at the Leinster Cricket Club in Rathmines. Further, The first-ever match at Lansdowne Road held on 11 March 1878.

In 1905, the New Zealand Rugby Union team toured Ireland. The international match held in Dublin. Also, there was such interest in the ‘All Blacks’ visit that the IRFU made the match the first all-ticket rugby international in history. Such was the level of interest in the visit of the first All Blacks team to Dublin in November 1905 that the IRFU made the match the first all-ticket rugby international in history. In their final 1926 Five Nations, they lost their unbeaten run to Wales in Swansea. They again came agonisingly close in 1927 but faced defeat 8–6 by England.
They had to wait until 1948. Inspired by fly-half Jack Kyle, Ireland defeated France in Paris. Also, it beat England at Twickenham and then a 6–0 victory at Lansdowne Road over Scotland. They finally secured their first-ever Grand Slam with a victory over Wales at Ravenhill, Belfast.
